SM Retail staged its largest job fair of the year at SM City Fairview. The event featured top companies from the SM Group including retail, logistics, and banking. Companies offered roles from entry-level to managerial positions, including Accounting Assistants, Cashiers, Merchandising Managers, Pharmacy Assistants, Sales Associates, Customer Relations Representatives, and Company Nurses.
With its one-stop setup, applicants explored multiple employers, apply, interview, and even receive offers from different SM companies and affiliates in a single visit.
With a strong commitment to empowering the Filipino workforce, the event welcomed over 2,000 jobseekers and proudly reported 240 (12%) hired on the spot, 482 (24.1%) for final interview, and 174 (8.7%) near hire. Those not immediately matched are still being considered, as HR teams from participating companies continue to conduct virtual interviews with qualified applicants after the event.
The event also launched a month-long series of job fairs in SM Supermalls nationwide, with stops at SM City Caloocan, SM City Tuguegarao, and SM Center San Pedro, underscoring SM’s commitment to linking Filipinos with meaningful career opportunities.
SM is committed to empowering Filipinos and is hosting weekly job fairs across various SM Malls nationwide, removing geographical barriers to employment. Since January 2024, these weekly job fairs have connected over 800 employers with more than 15,000 job seekers, with a remarkable 15% receiving on-the-spot job offers.
By strategically connecting job seekers with industry leaders in retail, food and beverage, Information Technology (IT), and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), SM’s job fairs do more than simply link individuals. These job fairs ensure that companies find the right talent that can contribute to their growth, thereby supporting the expansion of the Philippine economy while creating more job opportunities for more Filipinos.
