With this in mind, SM Retail’s Recruitment and Employer Branding Team organized an introductory AI session for our Talent Tribe, a community of recruiters from across the One SM Retail team, including SM Store, SM Retail Affiliates, and SM Markets.

The session was called “Say Hi to AI” and was kicked off by our executives from Human Resources including Senior Vice President Ms. Leny Hernandez who gave inspiring messages, expressed appreciation for the team’s hard work, and shared good news regarding our upgraded recruitment platforms with AI functionalities.

Our partners from TalentView, a leading employer branding firm in the ASEAN region, and Indeed Philippines, a job site and global leader in job matching and hiring, offered practical insights on how AI is shaping recruitment. Activities were included to give the Talent Tribe a hands-on experience with the concepts discussed, to give them a deeper understanding and appreciation of the practical use of AI in their daily work. Additionally, to foster teamwork and lighten the mood, a fun game was also held, allowing the group to connect with each other.

This session marks the beginning of our journey with AI in recruitment. We look forward to exploring and adopting these technologies to improve both the candidate experience and our ability to attract top talent, and make hiring decisions that align with SM Retail’s growth and talent needs.
