The SM Life Culture Champions Kick-Off 2025 proudly welcomes Batch 3, a new wave of passionate employees ready to bring #SoMuch DELITE across SM Retail.

We proudly welcomed Batch 3 of Culture Champions from SM Retail, SM Store, and Retail Affiliates nationwide. Culture Champions have been instrumental in cascading and reinforcing our DELITE Values. Kicking off 2025, we introduced our third batch of ambassadors, featuring a panel of representatives from Batches 1 and 2 who shared insights on each SM Life Value.
Culture Champions from Batch 1, 2, and 3 were grouped together to co-create SM Life activities under several pillars. Their task was to ensure that these ideas could be effectively implemented across the SM Retail organization.
Culture Champions also witnessed how their combined efforts brought significant changes into respective organizations, as attested by key business leaders.

“I liken teamwork to a body with different parts, each with its own unique function, yet all working as one. It cuts across the different values. One way to know if there’s teamwork in your area is if your workplace is a great place to work, where there’s collaboration. You’re like a family. Not perfect, but there’s relationship with each other and it’s easier to work with each other. That’s the secret to business development.”

“Entrepreneurship is not just about doing business. It’s more of malasakit. We have the passion to look out on how we can improve our service to our customers. We keep on listening to our customers, to our people, on how we can serve them better, even in our community. We need to instill in everyone that SM is not just doing business, we are here to help.”


“Drive is something we have within ourselves. It’s the passion to push for the best and not settle for just good. At the same time, it is what actually moves us forward. Enthusiasm, on top of that, is what allows you to sustain and continue. Everyone can be driven, but not everyone can be enthusiastic about what they’re driving.”
“Leadership is about taking positive actions to make things better. Influencing and motivating people are essential aspects of leadership. It’s not just about being the best; it’s about inspiring others to do their best. Leadership isn’t about being in charge. It’s about taking care of the people you are in charge of.”


“Integrity is something you either have or you don’t. Every day, we face decisions, and integrity serves as our moral compass. In moments of uncertainty, look to your values. They will guide you. When no one is watching, and you know something is wrong, you don’t have to think twice. If you know it’s wrong, don’t do it.”



Additionally, Prof Xavier led the discussion on self-awareness though the Enneagram Personality Framework.
