The SM Retail Workplace and Administration Team transformed the SMRHQ into a place of lively celebration of green habits, good vibes, and active engagement! ECOllab or Ecology Collaboration included a series of activities promoting sustainability, wellness, and collective action.
From putting our green thumbs to work and rolling out our yoga mats, we came together to care for and give back to our planet. With every bottle collected and every shared commitment aligned, we fostered a more sustainable and conscious work environment.
Trash Talk: A Crash Course on RA 11898
Led by Mr. Rolando Enoc from DENR-EMB, team members from various business units and retail affiliates in the Head Office learned about the Extender Producer Responsibility Act, which reinforced their knowledge on waste management and plastic pollution.
Small Bottles, Big Impact!
Recyling became #SoMuch fun with a bottle collection drive. The SM Markets team collected the greatest number of bottles weighing 100kg. While SM Retail Inc., SM Mart Inc, and Retail Affiliates collected 22kg, 11kg, 7kg respectively. The initiative proved that small acts could make a big environmental difference.
Breathe In, Burnout Out: Yoga for Wellness
Wellness took center stage with a yoga session that helped employees find their inner peace, stress release, and embrace a healthier and sustainable lifestyle. The session promoted not just physical health, but also mindfulness amid busy workdays.
Channeling Our Inner Plantita: Ecollab Gardening
Plantitas and Plantitos got to work during the Ecollab Gardening activity! Employees got a chance to engage in a gardening session and learn eco-friendly practices while contributing to a greener planet.

#MyHourForEarth was #SoMuch more than an awareness campaign. It is a powerful reminder that our collective action, even if it’s small, matters when it comes to protecting our environment. Employees joined by sharing pictures of their eco-friendly habits, inspiring others to embrace a greener, sustainable lifestyle.
Lights Off!
In support of Earth Hour and the global movement for climate action, SMRHQ Maintenance and Housekeeping team took the lead and joined millions around the world by switching off all non-essential lights from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm in support of energy conservation.
