SM PRIME HEADQUARTERS AUDITORIUM | MOA COMPLEX, PASAY – More than 300 SM scholars from Metro Manila had the chance to bond with their co-scholars during the general assembly. The first in-person general assembly after the pandemic was attended by SM Retail Vice Chairman Mr. Harley T. Sy and SM Foundation Executive Director Ms. Deborah P. Sy.
The SM scholars had a glimpse of the fun and exciting SM life. They watched a series of informative videos, including SM’s story which showed how Mr. Henry Sy, Sr. paved the way for what SM is today. They also had a virtual tour of the SM Retail Headquarters and watched a video compilation of the highlights of all our employee activities last year.
They also had the opportunity to meet some of the successful SM scholar alumni who are now making waves in their respective fields. A fun video interview of two SM scholar alumni, who had their internship in SM and are now working at SM, was also shown.
The SM Group offers part-time employment opportunities to its scholars to equip them with valuable work experience while contributing to their financial well-being. This initiative fosters a culture of collaboration and imparts essential workplace skills.
These experiences also foster friendships among the scholars. To complement this, a series of general assemblies, get-togethers, and digital groups—thoughtfully designed for scholars—contribute to a well-rounded student life. This inclusive environment not only encourages meaningful connections but also facilitates mutual learning among the scholars.
